Light the Night 2018
Be a light for blood cancer victims this 2018 as you join more than 35,000 people gather at the South Bank Cultural Forecourt for Light the Night. Set up by the Leukaemia Foundation, Light the Night aims to raise awareness and funds for blood cancer with a spectacular evening lantern walk. Coloured lanterns (gold, white, and blue) will help show people’s personal journey with blood cancer, providing a spectacle that’s both stunning and inspiring. Gold will be in remembrance for loved ones lost to blood cancer, white for those that have been diagnosed themselves, and blue to show community support for those affected. Together with others, the crowd will carry their lantern in a unifying walk through Brisbane. Be part of Light the Night on October 5.
MS Moonlight Walk 2018
Take part in a walk across Brisbane to raise awareness and funds for MS. The MS Moonlight Walk is an annual event in Brisbane that invites people of all ages and backgrounds to take part, where participants walk and illuminate the streets of Brisbane as they carry their own lantern to show their support. The walk starts at the South Bank Cultural Forecourt then goes through the Botanic Gardens, past Goodwill Bridge, and back to South Bank. There’ll be food and live entertainment to enjoy after the walk. MS - multiple sclerosis - is a disease of the central nervous system that affects young Australians more than any other chronic neurological condition - help raise awareness and funds for MS by spreading the word and joining in the 20th annual MS Moonlight Walk on October 6.
