Classical music lovers will enjoy how rising international Spanish pianist, Javier Perianes, breathes new life to Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1.
Experience Perianes’ passion and drive as he performs Brahms startling work of panoramic vision.
As a background, the opening of Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1 was composed not long after the suicide attempt of Brahms’ close friend Schumann. Meanwhile, the second movement has long been dedicated to Clara Schumann.
Stravinsky’s Petrushka, a symphonic musical ballet about three dancing marionettes, will also be performed.
Eivind Aadland, one of Scandinavia’s most respected conductors, will lead the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) for this highly-anticipated concert. He is also QSO’s Principal Guest Conductor for 2013.
According to Aadland: “I am absolutely thrilled to be taking up this position with QSO and I am full of anticipation in working with these wonderful musicians in the coming seasons and building upon the work we have achieved in the last couple of years. We have some very interesting programmes ahead of us and I look forward to this new relationship with the orchestra and its management to produce some creative and inspiring music making.”
