Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

If you’ve always wanted to cuddle a koala, see Australian wildlife, hand-feed kangaroos or watch a sheep dog show, go to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Founded in 1927, it is the oldest, largest and first ever Koala sanctuary in the world.

The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary takes care of more than 130 koalas. It also houses a wide variety of wildlife amidst natural and gorgeous settings.

Spot Tasmanian devils, echidnas, wombats, cockatoos, Australian parrots, emus, kookaburras, cassowarys, platypus and a slew of reptiles.

Watch a Sheep Dog Show and have the opportunity to catch award-winning handlers command sheep dogs around the paddock. See obedient sheepdogs respond to calls, hand signals and finely tuned whistles.

Take note that though koalas can be held for a fee, they should not be cuddled for more than thirty minutes per day.

The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is located at 708 Jesmond Road, Fig Tree Pocket Qld 4069. It is a quick drive from our 1 Bedroom Apartments Brisbane.
