The 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games extends to Brisbane this year with FESTIVAL 2018, bringing a huge program of entertainment to coincide with one of Australia’s biggest competitive sporting events. From April 6 to April 15 don’t miss 11 days of solid music, theatre, dance, circus, comedy, and visual arts in the city with Festival 2018 - and it’s FREE to attend!

Witness Brisbane come alive this April with Festival 2018, the perfect opportunity to celebrate the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games without having to head to the Gold Coast. Brisbane’s South Bank will be the main attraction this April, set to feature the Festival 2018 Hub which will offer a HUGE lineup of live music performances throughout the exciting 11-day festival. Expected performances will include Reguritator, Golden Vessel, The Preatures, Bob Evans, Cheap Fakes, Haiku Hands, Man Power, The Creases, Morning Harvey, Alex the Astronaut, Tales and Ales, Heart Music, Skinnyfish Sound System, Electric Fields, Blak Friday, Coloured Stone, and more - and it’s all free to watch!

The first day of Festival 2018 will start with WOW: Women of the World Festival, which will feature entertainment, workshops, exhibitions, and more that will continue for 3 days until April 8. From there on the festivities will just get bigger and better with dance performances from the Male Kiai Mura Buai Dance Company, the Nunukul Yuggera Aboriginal Dancers, and Yalu Dad. Comedians Diat Alferink and Sean Choolburra are also on the roster, as well as the hilarious 50 Shades of Black comedy show. Also not to miss at Festival 2018 include the Revolve “circus-jazz” show, The Owl and the Pussycat children’s theatre performance, BNE Design open-air market, The Village theatre show, the Moving Words workshop, and lots more!
